The
visuals
"After being a bigwig in the
fashion industry for 25 years, Peter
Norton switched to photography, developing
a fascination and keen eye for exotic
flowers. His images (like the lily
[above]), are translated to canvas
or fine art paper from one of Europe's
oldest paper mills by his wife, Kylie.
Their latest collection, Bloom, can
be viewed by appointment until November
30 at their studio, 76 Johnston Lane,
Annandal; 9566 4103 or online at www.peternorton.com.au"

Blooming
marvellous show
"BLOOM, Peter Norton's exhibition
of photographic prints of flowers,
was opened by just-back-from-a-trip-up-the-Amazon
Ken Done at Norton's Annandale warehouse
on Wednesday evening. Norton, a former
rag trader (he possesses seven Fashion
Industry Awards), tossed in the tape
measure a few years back to make a
career out of a passion — photography.
His images hang in fabric house Charles
Parsons' Shanghai HQ, World Square
commised his work for their public
areas and it's on the walls of clients
in Asia, Switzerland and the UK.
Blooming lovely: Di Hamill; Lady
(Sonia) McMahon; artist Fred Cress
with son Julian Cress, the executive
producer, and one of the brains behind
Channel Nine's The Block; Maggie Tabberer;
florist Ange Summers; and Peter and
Kylie's westie, Monroe." |

Bloom
Exhibition at Annandale
"Just in time for spring, Peter
Norton has created an exhibition of
macro flower images which opened last
Wednesday at the artist's studio at
Johnston Lane, Annandale.
With Ken Done opening the show wearing
a colour co-ordinated orange sweater
around his neck, it was always going
to be a buzzy night in the inner-city.
FACES: Brooke Tabberer, Catriona
Rowntree, Judy Done, Sam and Kylie
Norton.
CHARMED: The vivid exhibition." |

Exhibition
- "vibrant, sexy and dripping
with style"
"Peter Norton defected from
fashion design to become a photographer,
but took his keen eye for design with

Opening
"Chucking in a successful career
in the name of following your creative
urge is pretty risky stuff; no salary,
no paid holidays, no free stationery.
It also means freedom, as Peter Norton
discovered when he left the fashion
industry after 25 years to take up
photography..".
"Tonight the artist Ken Done
will open Bloom, Norton's first photographic
exhibition, featuring bright macro
images of flora through the seasons,
such as the two pictured." |
